Default LS1 Grand-Am Cup Racing Camshaft?

http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...1981&pid=90925

Advertised Duration Int.: 294
Advertised Duration Exh.: 306
Duration @ 0.050" (I/E): 239 / 251
Lift (I/E): 0.570 / 0.570
Lobe Separation: 106
RPM Range: 4000-7000

Here is a link for the specs and stuff on sdpc's site. It has 570 lift which is not too big, but enough for decent power for a daily driver. Basically, does anyone have this cam with a tune? And what would be a good set of valves and springs to use?

mmmkay...i'll chime in here. I have ordered the cam. do a search for "grandam cup cam" and there is a sound clip in one of the 3 or 4 threads that will come up with good info. It is NOT an easy one to tune...and as far as a daily driver. What are you willing to put up with? I personally think if you can get it tuned right...it'll be a wicked cam...not to mention I'm putting it in a 6.0 It seems to be a pretty decent power maker on a 346....good luck.

Rich

BTW- 918's w/hardened push rods. I'm using 5.3 heads and around 11.75-11.9 compression.

I thought the trouble was that it produces the power too high in the RPM for a heavy street car? Great for a lighter race car that can spin the engine all the time. It's not going to build much before 3500.
It always gets bad mouthed but it the right car for the right reason it's going to work well.
