have a 5.3 lm7 in a 66 c10 new to forum have questions
I'm new to this forum I have a 66 c10 has a 5.3 lm7 I'm looking at putting a Texas speed 228r 112 lsa cam with a 3000 yank stall I have a pair 243 heads would I be better off with my 862s it's gonna be a street driven truck

In general I would say the 243 heads are always better. If you can swing it, recommend milling them to 61cc for compression. That cam might be a bit big, but since you're stalling it also, might be ok

Either mill the 243s to retain compression, or switch to flattop pistons.
Or do both.
The 243s are superior to the 862s, and since you have a pair, it doesn't make sense to not use them. I would select a different camshaft, though.
