Default What makes a plug look like this on an LS1

A little background. I had the short block re-done after scorching a couple of bearings with my first turbo kit (STS). The car sat apart too long so I put it together and have been driving it until I could start putting in the Huron speed V2, which I'm doing right now. I have been running the car without a turbo. Motor is 9:1 compression, LS6 heads with VTC2 turbo cam. It ran pretty good, but a little on the weak side even tuned. Here are the plugs...

They are in order like you are looking from the front of the car. Number 7 is the one that looks different. They are stock type platinums with around 5k miles on them. I think it looks high speed glazed. What causes this on LS1s?

Were you actually trying to run stock range platinums in a turbo motor? What is the current gap?

#7 is notorious for running leaner than the other cylinders.

It definitely got hotter than the others. I should do the water port re-route thing before I put this all back together. It's going to be down until I trailer it to get the tune anyway.

I think #7 cylinder is cooled last so it tends run hotter. If you have the fuel injectors flow rate/checked I would put the injector that flows the most on #7. I would tend to put the four highest flowing injectors on the rear most cylinders. Might help a little.
