Default Worth rebuilding an LM4?

Hey guys,

I've been planning on swapping the TBI 350 in my 1990 K5 for an LS motor for a couple years now, and it's finally going to happen. I have been planning to pickup a basic LM7 iron block motor and trans out of a junkyard, with ~150k miles on it, and running it as is.

I've been given the option to pickup an Envoy EXT from a family member with an Aluminum LM4, and freshly rebuilt trans for a great price. The only real issue is that although the engine still runs great, it actually has 380,000 miles. I'm considering picking up this engine, and rebuilding it to last another 400k miles.

Am I correct in my assumption that I can probably accomplish this for ~$1,500, or am I way off?

Thanks
-Rob
