Cam for 408?
Hello all. I have a new TSP 408 set up for n\a small block. It has -8 piston 4.030 with a 4.00 stroke. ARP 2000 bolts. 10.8:1 to run on 93. I've blown all my cash on the short block and exhaust (TSP 1 3\4 long tubes with catted Y).
With that being said, I want to get this motor put in with minimal bucks invested. Its gonna be a street only car. I'm using my 243 heads and all other stock externals ls6 intake etc.
I know it sounds like blasphemy, but its all my budget will allow for at this point.
I want to get your collective ideas on a cam\springs that will get me running with my stock converter. This is not going to be a strip car, just a DD. I'm also hoping to keep my stock 7.4 pushrod if possible. Money strapped.
Thanks in advance.

Troye we can definitely help you get into a setup that would utilize the stock torque converter. One thing I will mention though is that a converter set up for N/A use can come pretty reasonable in price. This would allow you to run a camshaft large enough to really take advantage of the increased cubic inches. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'll be happy to help!

Whatever cam you get I'd get one that will be good with heads and stall down the road, since I'm sure you'll want to take full advantage of those cubes later on when money permits
