Oil tube bolt help

Oil tube bolt help Hey guys finishing up my cam swap got the oil pump back on and have no ******* clue how I'm going to get the bolt back in for the pick-up tube. How did you guys do it, I'm thinking wrench holding it and a magnet close by incase it falls

I'm guessing you are doing this with the pan cracked open because the engine is still in the car?
If so, I used a ratcheting box end wrench and snuck a pinky finger under the bottom side to get it started. I can understand you concern about dropping the bolt in the pan. The first ratchet wrench I used (Craftsman) came apart and dropped pieces in the pan. Let me tell you how much that pissed me off!
Anyhow, mine was on a 5th Gen Camaro so o had just enough room to do this. I'm sure you can find a creative way to do it. Some folks unbolt the passenger side motor mount and lift the engine on that side for more clearance.

I assume this is a camaro. On my 5.3 truck engine i cut the tab so i could spin the clamp around and used the top bolt on the pump. Don't know if you can do this on your setup but this was the best thing i did. Made the job so much easier. i did this while tube was in the truck.
Lower the oil pan down a little and it will give you better access to getting that oil pump pick up tube bolt in. Once you have this extra room you can thread the bolt in with your fingers and use a ratchet wrench to tighten it down.
