Default 4.8 pistons in a 5.3

Is it worth the time and effort? Ive already got the motor out for a re-build and I've got a set of 4.8s I can put on but is it worth it hp wise? What kinda gains could I expect with them and a retune? Other than a stall and exhaust the truck is bone stock down the the paper air filter. Thanks.

It will give you more compression so it will be more responsive. If you already have everything apart this would be the time to do it.

Yes, it will be worth it. With the flattops and 61cc heads, the motor should be around 10.5:1 compression.
