No, because that CTS-V used an LS6.

As far as doing an LS6 swap, check out the link in my signature on lots of info from when I swapped my crate LS6 into my '98 Z28. I used my stock '98 wiring harness and computer and swapped all the sensors from my '98 LS1 to my '04 LS6 and actually ran the stock tune for a few years before I went and had it tuned.

Actually, here's the direct link to my LS6 install page:

...If I were you, I wouldn't even try putting the other ECM in. Use your stock harness, transfer over all of your '99's sensors to the new motor and you shouldn't have any problems at all.

Since you're doing the FAST intake and LT headers, I would go have the stock ECM tuned.

I spoke with the guy with the ls6 today and he said it aS a long block pulled out of an 04 ctsv, then he installed this in his 98 Z28 and had to use the Ls1 intake to make it work. How does that sound?

Either way, I'm not buying it and my ls1 is being completely rebuilt right now, along with vette 243s and either a Titan IV or Street Sweeper cam.

Sounds like BS. Nobody pulls a LS6 intake and puts an Ls1 on it. I would like 20 less horsepower please!

Yeah, I had to hoist the bullshit flag. I told him I was rebuilding my engine and he said that's probably the best idea. I personally think he may have had the rarer ls6 block which came in a few of the f body's and added 243s to it. That would only make sense, else why would you stick an ls1 intake on a true ls6? The guy has tons of parts in the background, so he very well knew what he was doing. This is all speculation, but it still doesn't add up.

...not even sure that's what it is... the rare LS6 block was only in '01 & '02...that intake is from a '98 or '99 LS1 since it has the EGR...

BS flag should definitely be flying!

Default Are the headers from a LS1 interchangeable with the LS6 platform?

I bought my gen 4 bird with a LS6 already in it and I wanna throw some headers on but I’m not sure if I should buy LS1 headers designed for the car or LS6 headers I’m just not sure if the two are interchangeable or not ?

Any help is appreciated.

You are addressing an 8-year-old thread. You expect a reply from any of the participants??

While this is a very old thread. And no one will answer who was part of the original convo. You buy headers to fit the car. Whether 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 the headers don’t care what engine they are being attached to. If you had an LQ4 LS2 LS9 in your car you’d still buy headers for vehicle year make and model.
Good luck

...actually, I'm still here... Yes, buy the regular LS1 headers for your LS6 swapped 4th Gen...
