Need info, swapping 2010 6.0 short block into 02 Fbody.
My sons 02 ls1 is knocking and is limited on funds.
i bought a 2010 6.0 long block out of a truck.
We want to use the 6.0 short block as the heads are rect port & will cost more to swap intakes etc into the car.
We will reuse as much of the ls1 stuff as possible to get the car going.
So besides the 24/58x box conversion needed to make it work with the stock harness & ECM setup, what all else is needed for the short block to work?
I don't know if this engine has afm, dod, vvt in it but I'm sure it did.
What all parts off of the ls1 engine will work if I have to delete vvt & afm crap off of this 6.0 engine?
We're trying to reuse as much stuff that's possible to get this car going again.
So if we don't have to buy a new cam, lifters & cam covers etc, that will be better for us.
Can we re use the cam & lifters off the ls1 if they are good?
Can we re use the covers needed to delete vvt or afm?
