Default Torquer V4 info....

Just wondering if I could get some info on the torquer v4. Wondering dyno numbers, valvetrain life, and wondering if any one has any videos on this cam. Preferably in a ls1. I'm sure it's got a nice lope to it with it being on a 111 lsa. I saw this cam come out and now I'm debating on this one for my 2001 z28 a4. I was set on the 233/239 but now ????

The specs on the cam is 231/234 .629/.615 111°+2° LSA. The cam is ground using our new TSP lobes on Callies cam cores. The new TSP lobes are more stable and keep the typical sewing machine valvetrain sound to a minimum. As far as the sound, it will sound exactly like our Torquer V3 cam sounded. You should be able to find several videos of that cam online. We simply made some changes to the cam when converting over to our new lobes and offered both versions. The V4 version is definitely the way to go between the two as it will be much easier on the valvesprings. Typical RWHP gain is around 55-60 rwhp.

What would the powerband be for the v4. And would the .650 double springs be enough for this cam and would this cam require flycutting on some stock 243 heads

And how would this cam compare to the 233/239 for my weekender car

The power band on that cam is 2300-6700rpms. The Torquer will have a much stronger torque curve and midrange vs the 233/239. I generally reserve the 233/239 cam for those spraying over a 200 shot but do not want to go to the magic stick. .650 spring kit will work just fine for that cam. No flycutting is needed as long as your heads haven't been milled.

On the v4 what would be the lowest rpm idle could u go to get that choppy idle. Would anywhere between 650 - 800 rpm be OK or would that be to low for this cam

If I remember right that cam has 10 degrees of overlap. It's going to chop a lot regardless if the idle is 650 or 950.

Usually 800-950 rpm seems to be where most are set at from what I've seen
