Default Cam swap

I'm looking to do a cam swap in my 03 5.3. I'm told it's a single bolt cam, and not completely sure of what all it entails to do a 3 bolt conversion. I know the gear needs to be changed of course. But unsure of the rest if any. Do I need to do something different with the cam sensor? Or anything else? Any info is appreciated.

Is there a for sure line where they were single or 3 bolt? Or does it vary between models?

I am pretty sure the single bolt cam didn't start until the gen IV motors came out.

x2, like I said, '03 (which is genIII) is a 3 bolt, If your not sure or dont believe us its easy to figure out when you pull the timing cover.
I know my '04 and '05 5.3s are 3 bolt, and so is the '06 (L33) my brother has

If the engine you have is in fact a 2003 model. It should be a 3-bolt configuration.

No I believe what y'all are saying. I was under the impression that the single bolt was on the gen III's. But I did some digging around while I was waiting for a reply and that the conclusion i came up with. I got it for sure on btr's website and it was saying single bolt for ls3 cams. But i appreciate everyones input. It does help. Thank you

Single bolt is used for VVT.

Non-VVT use 3-bolt.
