Can you increase duration with 1.8 rockers (SLP makes stock looking ones)...?

No need. People around here have been in the 4's with junk 5.3s with spray. Sucks to hear people so negative about LS based engines on ls1tech. Say what you want but they are being swapped into fords daily and make decent, reliable, cheap power.

Somebody's just mad the LS1 drove the nails in the LT5's coffin and it took Ford 13 years to finally produce 4 valve N/A V8 that could compete with a 1998 Camaro.

But you've never had a 4 second car right?

Me mad?

I'm an advocate and far from a Ford person, although I do own a few mostly older stuff.

Garages full of all makes and models that would rival your wildest dreams.

PM me and I would be glad to show you a collection of cars.

As far as the LS driving a nail I wouldn't say it ended like that, just far more economical to produce.

I own both LT'S and LS'S, as a matter o fact there maybe a turbo six or two around.

I've pissed of more than one Ford owner by saying the exact same thing.

4 cam motors just love high rpm's while continuing to make power. It's an uphill battle for a pushrod v8.

I've owned several 90-95 ZR-1's and still do. The LT5 pulls so strong and so smooth 4 - 7.5k it becomes breathtaking. If Chevrolet would have continued what Lotus began in 1988, the roles would be reversed. The 5.0 owner's would be on Tech asking what they could do "secretly" to outrun that damn GM.

I would contact a vendor and ask them for some help. Remember when trying to achieve high rpm power from a pushrod motor; valve control is key. "Key to extra secret power"

Ahh how about something that's actually relevant to the OP's question instead of repeating some **** you read on the internet to make yourself feel good.

Valve control is important on a pushrod motor?

The force is strong with this one.........

Very strong indeed.

Just a little tough for some to understand. He wants secret then by all means install a lightweight set of valves, LLSR with minimum overlap, and springs to accommodate. All which is secret.

Sorry I didn't elaborate in terms that appeased you.

It was the "breath taking" performance of all the LT5's you've owned that threw me.

And still do NCRS Top Flight LT5's not just run of the mill junk.

I was simply stating my experience with 4 cam motors in general, not a coyote.

Go Here http://www.zr1specialist.com. You being in Indiana are close enough to his shop to pay a visit. It's worth it if you get a chance.

Once you take a ride in a 415-441 ci LT5 "Breath Taking" you would understand.

As far as me typing something I've read, I'm 40 years old I've lived it.

You will never see me advocating a newer generation mustang. Owning a Mustang is kind of like having a gay brother.

I'm a Corvette man

Sorry for getting off subject, just pisses me off when you ask a question about your ls1 on ls1tech and someone wants to throw off on the ls design instead of adding to things that could help you.

Where does this race take place? Do you have a link to the rules?

Rules are the key, just like in the old days, what ever is strictly not banned, is a GO.
