Default Silent cam modification

I know it's been beaten to death because I have searched the forums through and through. I still haven't really found what I'm looking for. I race a local race that my LS1 has to stay stock internally. I'm allowed a full exhaust and cold air intake as far as the motor is concerned. Is there anybody out there making a cam that will increase power with a Absolute stock sound? I don't really care as far huge Dyno numbers. I need a little edge. I'm going to do some head work as well because it is undetectable and a tune as well. Car is a 2002 WS6 if anybody is curious. I know I'm cheating before anybody decides to bust my *****, but there is some 2015 coyotes with a full exhaust and some secret tunes and they are barely edging me out. Can a brotha get some help? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Anybody try a LS7 cam in a stock displacement LS1? That cam doesn't lope.

Let them figure out cam timing, and that nose will turn into a set of tail lamps.

4 cam motors just love high rpm's while continuing to make power. It's an uphill battle for a pushrod v8.

I've owned several 90-95 ZR-1's and still do. The LT5 pulls so strong and so smooth 4 - 7.5k it becomes breathtaking. If Chevrolet would have continued what Lotus began in 1988, the roles would be reversed. The 5.0 owner's would be on Tech asking what they could do "secretly" to outrun that damn GM.

I would contact a vendor and ask them for some help. Remember when trying to achieve high rpm power from a pushrod motor; valve control is key. "Key to extra secret power"

It's 1/8th mile and they are barely pulling me at the end. I know they are better in the upper rpm 's but for them to have 50-65 more horsepower than my WS6, I'm not to impressed. They are fast, no doubt but they are beatable.

What trans are you running? If it's an auto grab a 4000+ stall and drop some E.T. also maybe an ls6 cam with larger ratio rockers. What gear are you running?

Ls2 or ls6 cam, mild head port work, including the rocker boss and get the seats cut for the 243 head valves and get the sodium valves, mill to 62cc, and you should be better than a stock LS6

I plan on getting around 11.5 to 1 compression and also swapping out the 241's for the 243's because the tech at the track won't know the difference. Keep the info coming guys.

The G2-3 cam sounds pretty stock, but at 11.5 or 12.1 to compression I wonder how stock it would sound.

Swap to an aluminum 6.0 block maybe go up to 402ci. Port the ls6 intake and TB.

How about AI 241 port package? It'll way outflow the 243 and if the tech does know the difference the casting number will match. AI will cut for the larger valves too

Hit up a custom cam guy.... a wide LSA such as 116 is what you want.

I'd definitely get the 241's ported with a custom "stock" sounding cam. I'd look for other things to make it faster other than power.

Oh yeah, rear gear. If you're still stock go 3.90
