Difference between Delphi and Gm Ls7 lifters?
lol since this thread is revived & up and running just by chance i specifically came here to search around on these!
i see both summit & jegs sell them with trays for around $140 a set. ... or is there any reason to get the "chevrolet performance roller lifters part #88958689" for $370?
i will be installing prc 2.5 ls6 heads with PAC .660" Lift Dual Valve Spring Kit & a titan 4 cam., with cam motion hardened chromoly pushrods. these are going onto a Blueprint 6.0 shortblock.
i mean i'll spend the $370, but if the ls7 lifters are fine then who doesn't wanna save $230 bucks !?

Yes, the "expensive" lifters were known as the "Cadillac" lifters. Don't know if they still go by that name, or not. They have lighter weight internals, and may hold less oil for reduced weight. I believe they have a ceramic internal check ball too, instead of a metal one. They are supposed to be top notch, according to GM. I bought a set about 10 years ago. Never ran them, because the outside diameters were about .0015"-.002" (2 thousandths of an inch) smaller than the standard LSx lifter, and I thought that was a little on the loose side. Before I sent them back, I called around to get a lifter preload spec on them. I called 5 or 6 different places, and got 5 or 6 different answers!! Some places said maybe .050" preload, and some said about .040" from bottoming the plunger in the lifter body! Quite a difference of opinion!!
do you still sell ls7 lifters with trays
Delphi and AC Delco both make LS7 lifters for GM, 2 different factories that GM utilizes under the same part #. LS7 lifters are a great lifter, when you're valve train is properly setup even with higher lift camshafts...MEASURE PUSHROD LENGTH REGARDLESS. Don't just run 7.400 because someone says they will work.
I sell the Delphi LS7 for $90 shipped, $120 with trays.

Yes. We don’t play and need to insure our customers enjoy success. Money is not the issue…
Here's the real-deal. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-htlskit2
Man all lifter companies right now are out of stock, finishing a SBC build and the Hyd. Rollers are all on back order there too.
