LMF vs LM7

Are these engines the same or are they different. I am going to be getting and engine tomorrow and it is out of a 2003 Chevy Express Van.

Which one are you getting? Yes they are both 5.3's, but both are different. LM7 was used 99-07 and LMF was 08-09.... So one is GENIII and one is GENIV.

The guy sent me a picture of the ecu and it has a service number 12576107. The engine however has a throttle cable. I read some where that the service number is for an electric throttle. I'm just trying to ID the engine. He says it came out of a 2003 Chevy Express and is a 5.3l

I know the express vans had a cable throttlebody on later years than the trucks or cars. I think all the way till 2005.
