Is a 10 second 1/4 Mile Possible?
I just recently swapped a LS1/T56 combo into my 2001 Lexus IS300 (pic attached).
I really want to make this car reach 10s in the quarter mile and I've been looking at the below kit to help take me there. Are 10s even possible on LS1/T56 while staying N/A? Can someone please look at this kit and give me some thoughts? Thanks!

10's are possible but you cant rely on power alone to get you there.Id worry more about suspension/weight mixed with the above package should be extremely close with good traction and good driver. In reality its a solid mid to low 11s car.If you want consistent 10s..look into slicks..dial in the suspension and shed all weight and go from there.if all else fails..a small shot of juice should put you over the edge.
Thanks for the response. It'll definitely be on slicks and have some of the weight taken out. I just didn't know if people have done similar builds and gotten to 10s while using the 6speed and staying N/A. Or, if the kit was the way to go or if I should buy different parts than what the kit suggests in order to get more power.
Those gears will help. You'll want to build to rev, so spend some time on good valve train stability. Ditto on the suspension and tire comments. Not sure how stout the supra rear is, but a T56 is known to punish rear axles. If it's a good stout rear end, then

I would think you would need a stroker(402+cid), 4000 stall and a much bigger cam to even get close. That kit wont get u there unless you and car weigh 2500 lbs. Maybe anti gravity help from parts off a used TR-3B?

I do not see why not. Many f-bodies have clicked off high 10 passes with 450whp and a 3200lb range weight with great DA and 1.4 60ft times. It is definitely doable with the suspension dialed in. I know this is not a F-body but if it weighs down in the low 3xxx range then again it's doable. Hell a 2500lb car should go bottom 10's with 450whp. I am not saying you are wrong btw, High Altitude and High DA's can effect performance immensely. I am basing this off of a seal level track with a 0-500 DA.
That kind of HP should put a 3500lbs car into the 10s solidly near sea level IF the power is used well and you can row.
Going to need good headers/exhaust and CAI to let it make that power and the suspension will have to be very well setup.
I always find it more informative to listen to those who do more with less than those who write big checks and make excuses for lackluster result but will tell you their setup is awesome.

I wouldn't buy anything from Hawks, their customer service sucks dick.
That being said, it is not hard to run a 10 NA in a very streetable combo if your do your homework and get the car to leave decent. I'm currently sitting at an 11.08 with a H/C/I 346 that I can drive literally anywhere. Its Advanced Induction ported stock heads, Cam Motion shelf grind and a fast 92. Very basic. Car weighs 3040 no driver.

Thank y'all for the responses.
I'm in South Atlanta, GA so I'll be about 1,000ft above sea level.
Also, the stock weight for an IS300 is around 3,300lbs and that's with the 2jz motor and transmission. Probably around 3150 with the LS1/T56 in it. After I gut it and get in it I hope to be between 3200-3300lbs.
I'll probably have to pay more attention to suspension than I was planning based on these comments. I want 10s, even a 10.9, but I'll honestly be happy anywhere close to that. It'll be the fastest thing I've ever driven at that point so gotta keep it in perspective a little.

I went 10.92 at 126 1800 feet in a sbe ls1 T56 Trans am. Set up was more radical tho. That's a stock casting head and smaller cam. My set up was 4" intake tract speed density ported 102 intake PRC215 and ms4 1 7/8 headers and 4" exhaust 430 gears on a 27 11.5 Hoosier. I left at 6500 cutting 1.5x 60s. Car had a decent amount of weight reduction. Guessing at the time maybe 150-200 removed but also had a 9" under it.
