Default Lg cam??

Looking at the lg g5x3 cam. I understand that it's $150 more than others. Just wondering if it's worth it or could u get the same cam with a comp custom on a xer?

My solid roller is basically a g5x3 once you factor in the hot lash. Just FYI that's going to be a pretty big cam in a LS1 or smaller duration engine. Works superb in my LS2 though.

it's a 234/242 ~.600 lift on either a 112 or 114 (either having 4* advance ground in IIRC)

so if that's really what you're after you could order from Cam Motion and have them tweak it a little, sometime like 234/242 but increase intake lift to .620" and leave exhaust around .600"

or they have this in their regular line up which is really close but slightly larger: http://store.cammotion.com/titan-king-cathedral-port

default is on their better core but they have the option to get a cheaper core like a Comp would be for $50 less

I had that exact same cam, sent it to Kip @ Cammotion to have it reground into a LLSR. Kip checked it (I assume with Cam Doctor) and found each lobe was off on both lift and duration. With that cam, you definitely do NOT get what you pay for...

I ran a G5x2 in a old Fbody (bought it used). These cams were very popular when the LS first came out. There weren't many choices at the time so guys would cough up the $500 something bucks for them. Nowadays imo unless you have your eyes on any specific cam custom is the way to go w/ guys like LJ,Tooley and Smallwood.
