Latley ive been lookin for a 5.3 to replace my 408 that has a rod knock. and my local speed shop that i usually go to has one for 500 bucks with 216k miles.. he says it runs and everything.. my option was to buy a lower mileage one but havent found any around latley and i really want to start driving my truck again.. is there anything i should be worrying about? My intentions where to throw a small cam and dd like before.. i had a 224/114 and it ran awsome

With 216k its definately got more miles behind it than in front of it. It may be more cost effective to just fix the 408.
