Ok lets say I go with the V2 im seeing a huge mix of people running different springs some beehives some pac 1518s any input on these? Also looks like most just run 7.4 pushrods but the right answer im sure is to actually measure so ill just ask anyone run anything other than 7.4 pushrods with a v2 and factory heads?

If the lifters are currently quiet, don't bother pulling the heads to change them.
Change the:
Rocker arm trunion bearings- BTR, COMP or Summit brand.
Timing chain LS2 will be fine. $45?
Valve springs, seals, etc.
Oil pump
Cam retainer plate-cheap $20

And to help that cam out I'd really be looking for a set of headers. I helped installed a set of the stainless eBay headers for $160 with great results.

Thanks sorry should of added I have 1 7/8" SS headers already for the car and instead of it reducing to like 2.5" exhaust Its gonna stay 3" entire way. Also on the look for LS6 intake manifold. Then thats IT! for now....

Think oil pump is a definite? I ask because the car does show good oil pressure

How many miles on it? The extra $130 bucks for me is cheap insurance. I'd rather spend that since I'm already there.
Just my opinion. I am currently doing a heads and cam swap and installed a Melling 10296.

Don't forget it's also a good idea to do the HD2 shift kit for Transmission and cooler with the addition of a stall.
If I wouldn't have went with the Tick SNS Stage 2 cam I would have gotten V2. Very comparable and should drive well on street with a good tune.

Thanks for the help. The shift kit is fairly cheap so I'll throw that in when I pull trans also will find a aftermarket cooler. As far as oil pumps I just remembered I have a LS6 oil pump off my old z06 I could just port it and shim it.

FWIW I have a melling m295 and it was really cheap. The pressure is better than stock. What converter are you planning on going with?

Give me call if you have a second. We might be able to get you some good prices. I have some new scratched or dented headers and can find you a good deal on a cam kit as well.

Honestly dont know, Yank seems to be popular, I can also get a used pro torque... I just know I want it to be a 3600 stall. Like i said this is going to be the ls1tech classifieds build for the most part. So whatever i can come across on here or other sites i visit.

I have a yank ss3600 and I love it. If you don't find a used converter in your price range you can always look at ptc converters for a new one. They're reasonably priced and perform well.

That would be a good setup OP!

I run the TSP 233/239 and circle D 5c converter which is a 4000 stall. No problems at all. Can easily be a daily driver.

IMO, the torquer 2 is probably the biggest i would run in a daily driver.

Give TSP a call for everything needed..

I'd definitely give Texas Speed a call on that info/ offer. I'm running their headers that I got on scratch and dent for a great price. I literally couldn't believe what they sent me was "scratch and dent". I really had to look to find a flaw of 3 very light scratches. Very happy customer on that deal.

Already bought 1 7/8" headers last month and now that I think about it they actually are Texas speed headers

Not sure if this has already been addressed, but your 01 already has an ls6 manifold on it, they came stock 01-02. Also, your 01 has a ls6 oil pump in it, I personally wouldn't change it since you have good oil pressure. I left mine alone for my cam build and it's doing fine with it turbo'd now too, great oil pressure.

I have a yank ss3600 stall and love it. It'll drive very well with a torque v2 in it no matter what gears you have. I have 2.73's in mine right now and I will say that when i had 3.42's it was a tighter feel, but the car moves by itself with 2.73's. I ran those gears with a TSP 233/239 cam and now a btr stage 1 turbo cam with no problems. With that stall it won't be a slouch down low at all. I cut consistent 1.72 60ft's with 2.73's and that was only leaving at 1500rpms, not the best 60' but I couldn't complain with those gears & full weight car lol

I agree with everyone here, I'd call TSP, get some nice dual springs, titanium retainers, chromolly pushrods, timing chan (katech c5r is perfect), and I didn't do the trunion upgrade when I was cam only, but I did it for my turbo build. It's good reassurance if you have the extra cash. I wish I had changed my lifters out, but I couldn't see pulling the heads to do that.

The only other thing I'd get is a nice transmission cooler, your transmission will thank you along with your wallet lol. I run a B&M 70266 and my temps stay pretty low on normal driving in stop and go traffic mid summer. If I really beat on it and I mean a lot, it sees high 190's. Summer heat driving down the highway my temps are between 162-166, in town they run usually 168-177ish. It hit 199 at the track last year after driving straight there, teching in, and getting right in line running 4 hotlap runs. I wish i had put the 70274 in, but it's big lol

Thanks for letting me know about the ls6 intakes... I got one for a really good price the other day so I'll just flip it and make a few dollars. I got the rpo codes last night the car has the 3.23 gears so that's a plus.
