Default PAC 1218 or 1219 valve spring for this cam

Just wondering which spring will work the best with a cam that has a max lift of .568 lift. Years ago everybody liked the 1218 but I see they offer a 1219 as well. Is one really better than the other? this engine is only going to rev to maybe 6200 max. What is your opinion?

Stock LS6 valve springs would be good enough for that much lift. Stock LS6 cam is .550.

Which lobes does your Comp cam have? If they're XE-R's you will want something better than LS6 springs. Not to knock the comment above, but you need to consider the aggressiveness of your cam lobe profiles before making the decision.

Having said that, there are a number of sponsors here that offer the PAC 1218 spring kit for a very reasonable price. That is probably what I'd go with regardless of your lobes. I myself just decided on some PSI 1511's, but the 1218's were a very close second.

Good luck with your decision.

lift is not the end all for determining what type of spring to use...the type of cam lobe plays a bigger factor.

always contact the cam company to get a recommendation for springs. If anybody knows how much spring you need it would be them.
