You know that after you put even a small cam in you WILL end up buying a converter for it. So figure accordingly.

I have had others with cam, and no stall...78 TA and 79 Z28 both had a decent cam...others had small cams and never had an issue...but they were on TH400 trans

I drove a 230/224 on stock stall and it sucked dick.

If you are 100% dead set on not getting a converter I would urge you to go smaller than even the 224R.
