ARP torque please help. I bought arp rod bolts for my 2000 firebird. I did not buy the arp oil to stretch them as this is my first time really trying to get power out of a motor. If I use 5w 30 motor oil what should I torque them down to I looked on there web sight and haven't found nothing please help!
Bolt preload can vary a great amount based on friction, which is why ARP spent so much time developing their lube. You should get it with the bolts as mentioned, but if not, don't substitute since the rod bolts are so critical.
I also was under the impression that ARP required a measurement when installing rod bolts to ensure the stretch was correct.
