Need new oil pump
Hey guys, I'm new, I'm building a turbo 5.3 to somewhere around the 1000hp+ mark and was wondering if I should use the oil pump that I got from the motor or if I should go with a ported one. I'm using a brand new comp cam double chain cam gear and I'm wondering if they make oil pumps that will bolt up without the spacers I have so the pick up tube will drop in place perfectly. Thanks in advance
The 2010 Camaro oil pump is what I fit, this is a HV pump with larger rotors.
The COST is low, fits, available from a GM dealer as is the IWIS timing chain.
This GM PP LS-7 timing chain is made by IWIS.
I have also had good luck with a stock Z-06 camshaft with a TT.

Change your oil pump when your at it. Think about the volume of your oil pan before choosing the oil pump. If the pump is capable of sucking your sump dry, you're in big trouble. I believe the 2010 camaro has a 8.5qrt oil pan, there's a reason for that.
