Default Rods/rod bolts

So I got a used shortblock off of a member here. I had planned on just re-ringing/new bearings but i had a question about rod bolts.

I'm only planning a 450-500rwhp build (probably keep close to stock rev limiter, no higher than 6500). Should I worry about the stock rods/bolts? Block has 107k on it. I'm gonna have a machine shop check it out and make sure everything is still within spec, but didn't know if ARP bolts would be a necessity with a build like this.

if you don't want to resize them for ARP rod bolts, than I would go with factory LS6 rod bolts.

My rods are currently at the machine shop getting ARP bolts... I didn't ask what he was going to charge me but I can't imagine it's outrageously expensive.
(I am letting him install the bolts too due to not having a stretch gauge).

These LS rods can only be honed .002" which is a lot less labor intensive than a true resize which also involves cutting down the mating surface of the cap.

I figured I was going to be in that work for about $200 but we'll see next week lol!

I agree, and am using the LS6's. You are near the upper limit, though.
