Ms3 cam in ls1 now some heads! Help Hello everyone I just installed a ms3 in my 2000 camaro ss and I had my 241 heads done to be able to work with the huge lift. So far I'm not too happy with the performance. I have around 500 bucks available would I be fine with some ls2/ls6 heads? I'm really trying to get the best bang for my buck!! Im trying to get around 500 rwhp. Please let me know of your suggestions please and thank you!
500rwhp is a pretty lofty and expensive goal. You will need extremely good heads (Afr, Mamo motorsports, tfs215's), and a large cam tailored to the heads. There is a thread Pat G did I believe on the recipe for 500hp. Lots of things will come into play that are out lined in his thread

$500 won't even touch what you need.
There is a set of CNC 243s in the classifieds right now for $850 without springs or $1000 with springs which is about the best deal you can hope for. Those should get you around up around the 450-460rwhp mark on an average dyno.
It's not as easy as ordering a monster cam and putting random parts on if you want to see 500rwhp. And especially not if you're on any kind of budget.
