Default Need new 5.3 rods

I'm building a 1000hp+ motor and I just got my heads and block back. Using 317 heads, 8.3:1 dish weisco pistons (floating ring) and I'm looking for some good strong rods. Are l33 and lm7 crankshafts the same? Probably different reluctor but could I use a k1 industry rod on the gen 3 which used the press fit?
It's hard to find the rod in 6.098 so will 6.1 work with a .51 head gasket?

Can't answer your question, but 5.3 is 3.78" bore, yes?
Doesn't the 317 (L92 style rectangular) head require 4.00" or larger bore?

317's are not L92 style rectangular ports.

Thanks, I KNEW there had to be more to it! I cut-n-pasted a table of head castings vs. Gen and port shape from somewhere, evidently it's got typos in it.
Best of luck with your project.

The only press fit Aftermarket 6.100 rod with a .945 pin I have seen is the Scat I beams. The k1's are for .927 pins and the Scat and Eagle h beams are all for floating pins. Also the Scats are not available yet.

Sorry when you said 3 gen I thought you were talking about the press fit pistons. If you have .945 floating pins Scat SCA-66100945A or Eagle ESP-6100M3D2000 are the only 2 I have seen. I bought the eagle for my build because the Scats are a new product and they kept pushing the release date back.

Will they hold 1000hp? I saw some k1 rods that would fit I just want some rods that won't blow the motor up at my type o boost

You're going to have very few options with a .945" pin. Most of the rods are for a .927" pin.
