Default "stealth" cam

hey everyone,

I am looking for a "stealthy" cam for my forged lq4 short block, 243 heads, and a ls6 intake. off the shelf is fine. i also will be running a 200hp wet plate, but hardly ever. right now i am leaning towards either a gt2/3, or a gt11. but i am open to other suggestions.
the car is a daily driver with a yank 3600 converter.

thanks for your help,
Bruce

My former cam was an EPS 218/226. 117ls + 3 deg and idled completely stock in a 10.75:1 LS1. Pulled strong to 6700 with hollow valves and dual springs

the z06 cam seems like best bang for the buck, i am just wondering how much better i can do with the same drive-ability and tame idle.

Shale, any idea how much power you picked up? i have read that the gt2/3 will net around 35-40hp alone. i am aiming for 500whp w/o n2o. im thinking with the ported 243s in my lq4, i should be getting close depending on cam selection. this is no dyno queen so if i dont hit 500 oh well, rather have a better curve than a peak number...

there are much better options then the LS6 cam. you are not going to come close to 500whp with a small cam and 243's.

Yeah getting a 364 to 500whp would take a cam that would definitely rumble. So the sleeperish route will limit you to the 430-450 range depending on how well your heads turn out
The LPE 2-3 is pretty tame even in a LS1 so with more inches and compression you could creatively sneak a 224/228 past most people with a wider 116 lobe separation and setting the idle at 950

Good thinking. I doubt you will even hit 400rwhp with that combo.

you need a 228/232 Titan from Cam Motion for that 6.0. It will sound good, make great power, and have great Street manners.

My roommate has that cam in his 6 speed ls1 trans am. It will be even more tame in your 6.0

Sounds like a great choice for your application.

If you want a tame idle, then use a camshaft with 0* overlap or less.

The Cam Motion Titan 3 has 0* overlap.
