862 heads on LS1
Is there a good stock lifter I should get to replace the 190K mile lifters? LS7? Also, what's a good stock oil pump to put in there while I have everything apart? Will this still be a nitrous friendly set up for a 150 shot occasionally or will the c/r be too high?
If you are truly chasing the unicorn that is true stock LS6 valves, don't expect them to come cheap. If they do, be suspicious IMO.
Stock chamber 862s will raise your compression on a LS1 marginally. Maybe 10.5:1? I don't see why you couldn't still run some nitrous with a proper tune and enough fuel.
Melling 10296 oil pump is direct bolt-on and fantastic with the high pressure spring. It's not cheap, but worth the investment, IMO. Otherwise, a stock LS2 pump or even the Melling stock replacement available cheaply at parts stores are decent pieces.
LS7 lifters are fine for such a cam. Nothing wrong with the Hot Cam per se, but you are leaving power on the table. Nothing wrong with wanting to stay within limits of LS3 valve springs..a custom cam shop can give you something better that stays below their max lift.
