N/A LS1 Build Help
I'm new to the LS1 community and I was wanting to do some N/A upgrades. I was wanting to start off with a FAST 102mm intake manifold. I was wondering what I would need if I went with a 383 Stroker upgrade. What kind of heads and cam would I need? What would be the best upgrades to go with a 383 Stroker upgrade? Would the 102mm Intake manifold still work with all that? Thank you for your help in advance!

It occurs to me that 102 is big for a stock displacement engine and still a bit big for a 383 without some screaming heads and a big cam. What are your goals? If you are building an all-out track machine, maybe you could get away with a 102. If you want to enjoy driving it, maybe stick with something a bit smaller.
Tossing a 102 on a stock engine, IMO, is like connecting a (3 inch?) fire hose to your garden hose. It'll look cool but that's about it. Also similar to buying magnums hoping it'll make your junk perform like it.

Plenty of info on here for you to research to make great decisions about your build. To make 450 your gonna need a well matched setup. Dont have to do a 383 to get it tho. Unless you have deep pockets or you need a rebuild

Stick or auto? Assuming stick, 450rwhp is a little over 500 at the crank. While you are at the ceiling of 347ci, you can do this with stock LS1 bottom end with some heads flowing 290-300CFM, milled for 11:1 or so compression, good long tubes, matching cam in the 240-ish range. Then maybe a 102. Or a 92 probably would be just fine and be more compatible with a phased approach.
If auto, you really need to look into spending more on a proper stall converter and likely some upgrades for the transmission itself. And you'll need more crank HP to reach that wheel goal...that might be getting into stroker territory.
Most of all a GOOD TUNE.

It looks like you need to do a lot of reading as all of these questions are basic but depend on your goals. If you want to take the easy road; contact one of the forum sponsors and tell them what you want to accomplish with your car. They will lead you the right way.

Research is what you need good sir. There are a lot of things that go into a H/C/I set on these cars. Good news is a lot of combos have been done and are proven to work well. The power goals you are wanting will make a fun car for sure. If you have an auto I would recommend getting a decent stall....one that will compliment your set up later on. Basic mods are your friend. Get headers first and enjoy them for a while. You might be surprised at how much they can wake up a car. Good luck in your modding.

The money you would spend on the 383 you could get yourself a killer set of heads and a cam to match and get the power you are looking for assuming your LS1 bottom end is good.
