Unhappy Death of my Ls1

This weekend I installed a circle d 3800 stall. Well I went to work today and flashed the stall but didn't go wot. About 10 blocks later it started knocking on and off. When I got home it was a constant knock. Not loud when at idle but only when I accelerate or put the car under a load. It sounds like it's coming from the oil pan area. Anything after 2500 rpm it gets loud

is your oil level ok? oil pressure? If you've heard rod knock before, is that what it sounds like? Does the engine vibrate in time with the knocking?

No vibration, the engine surges a bit. Maybe like 200rpm. I put a stethoscope to the oil pan and could hear a loud clacking sound. Oil looks good and so does the pressure. I've run royal purple since I bought the car with 70k. Car ran very strong up until this point.

Flex plate good? They crack and make noise

Bolts torqued/tight? They will rattle/make noise

Did u have proper converter depth in the transmission and properly installed along with some clearance to the flexplate with the trans bolted up and the converter installed?

Just odd everything was fine, you swapped the converter and now it makes noise?

Try unbolting the converter and fire it up. You will have to do this step at some point if it is the engine, might as well be totally sure.

I just had spoken to you on the phone that day from Miami asking about a break in period. I guess I'll drop the trans again and see if all looks good. If it is the motor, I'm going with a Lq9 block and install stronger connecting rods.
