Default Front and back cover install question

Iam going to do a cam swap on a built engine and have read that you do the front cover, rear cover and pan in a series for the correct alignment. Can you just do the pan and front or back alone? Or always all three? Thanks sorry Iam rand new and I did search but it was vague. I've done it of gen1 stuff but this is my first lm7 5.3

You can just do the front cover for a cam swap.

As stated above, no need to touch the pan or rear cover.
