Temp How many people watch their actual coolant temp? I have an l92 headed lq9 in a g body. Seems to like mid 190's coolant temp at idle wih a 180 stat. Have ele cooling fan comes on at 195 goes off at 190. The coolant temp never falls far enough to shut fans off without some revs. 1500 -1800 coolant drops down to 185 or so.small fitting on waterpump goes to heater inlet large fitting is return for core ad hoses sized accordingly . CYL head bleed cent merges into the upper rad hose.has rad with 2 1" cores and us aluminum.Comp is 11.2. Doesn't overheat at all but by watching computer coolant temp makes seem a bit warm.input anyone?

That's normal. My 180 degree thermostats keeps my lt1 at 190-195. I have an aftermarket gauge measured at the head and manual fans.
My E36 runs 186 and the fans don't come on until 200, then shut off at 190. That's all factory and measured with an OBII reader and my iPhone.
Remember the t stat doesn't start to open until 180 degrees, so it'll maintain a temp at something hotter than that.
