As long as your tune is good and the bearing clearances are right, I'd think that shortblock would be fine to 7-800whp. I just don't like pushing the stock sleeves that hard though.

Didn't even see you replied. Yea he does. My dad has his motor over there as well had a cracked cylinder. So he's going with a 5.3 bored for a 5.7 in his little 300zx
