My first LS build, advice, guesses? etc
Hello all,
I have stepped away from carburetors and big blocks to build my first LS.
What I have:
2002 LQ4 Block
224/228 600/600 Texas Speed Cam 114 LS
Trunion kit for the rockers
All ARP bolts
Wiseco 370 cid Forged Piston Set: 4.030
Texas Speed & Performance 6.125" Super H-Beam Connecting Rod Set with ARP 2000 Bolts
GM LS2 & L99 Crankshaft, 3.622" Stroke, 58x
316 heads, minor port work, larger valves (but I do not have the valve size at the moment)
Total compression estimated by Texas speed 10.6:1
Magnuson MP112 with 90MM inlet, 92MM throttle body, 2.8" pulley fully reworked by Magnuson, fuel crossover added
Thorley headers
Do you guys have any advice regarding the build? See any mistakes with part selection?
The purpose for this engine is just a driver, something fun and hopefully reliable.
Any idea what kind of HP/TQ I should expect?
Thanks

Which headers are you running? Not familiar with Thorley...
Longer tubes the better, LS motors tend to favor larger primaries than SBC and BBC. 1-7/8 minimum IMO, matches up with exhaust ports and OEM gaskets like taters and gravy.
If you are willing to add a meth kit, it'll help the blower and motor stay out of detonation. Even water injection (straight distilled water) will help reliability and performance.
