Default Compression test results with only a starter

I'm getting 180 with stock heads larger cam and .010 over Pistons. Is this too high?

My stock engine was around 220 psi. Did you get your problem worked out with your starter?

Compression really won't ever be "too high". It ranges tremendously from motor to motor, too.

Don't worry, that will go down a bit during break in.

The stock starter isn't turning it for se reason even with a new one so I'm gonna get a 3 hp one and see if that works

The motor does turn easy by hand doesn't it? I've never had a problem with a stock starter cranking my 408. Hopefully its just a bad starter.

It was a complete rebuild so could it be that it's just tight due to new parts and higher compression? I mean the bearings felt tight early in the build but the plastic gauge looked good.
