Default Ring gap questions ls1

So I went to assemble my block yesterday(98 ls1 stock bore with drop in replacement mahle rings) and was checking the ring gaps which seemed wide to me. I came up with .02 top ring and about .025 bottom comp ring. Does this seem excessive ? Block has light hone and still measures 3.898. Stock says about .016 max and mahle says .017 min according to .0045 x bore. The engine will have NO boost or nitrous ever. It's going in an off road truck that will live at 3-6 k rpm it's whole life. My concern is oil consumption. The engine will prob only ever get 10k miles so I don't need it to run for 100k . I just don't want to burn a quart every 500 miles or something excessive . Should I buy file fits or run it? (FYI I read prob 20 threads about ring gap. Most pertain to nitrous or boost)

well i called mahle and asked them. thought ide share my info for anyone searching. the tech guy said .018-.02 is good for top ring and .02-.024 is good for middle comp ring for stock ls1 bore. he said on most modern engines especially ones that will sit at higher rpm you definitely want a wider lower ring gap for flutter .
