Default Whats going on here?

I put a new motor in my car started it no oil pressure..... So i took it apart and put a new oil pump and o ring on there and started it with the water pump and radiator off and i had 30 psi of pressure at idle..... then i put the radiator and water pump on and started it .. nothing. Sometimes when u start it at idle it will have 10psi but other times u will start it and nothin and the ses light is on. What could be the problem. I think this car is justa pos.

...did you replace the plastic cap on the back of the engine block between the tranny and block - it seals the oil passages and does not come installed with fresh engines...

It could also be the o-ring around the oil pump pick-up tube.. ... a classic cause of little oil pressure... did you smash the oil sending unit when installing the motor?

That plug under the rear cover? No the oil pressure sensor is fine and we put a manual gauge on it and it had no pressure. So its either the o ring on the pump or that plug correct? Because from what i read if the plug isnt installed then the oil pressure sensor wont tell how much oil pressure the motor really has. But ill check it out tommrow.

If none of that stuff seems to work, try changing the oil filter. I know it sounds basic but I've seen BRAND NEW Fram filters get clogged and prevent the flow of oil.

That should solve your problem. Good luck and don't give up on it.
