Free floating lq4 piston
Trying to replace my lq9 free floating pistons with dished lq4 free floating pistons. I can't seem to find it free floating just press fit. Was wanting to get the spreed pro brand. Building for turbo and on somewhat of a budget.

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to explain.
GM makes two types of connecting rods. One is a press fit wrist pin and one is a floating wrist pin. The floating wrist pin style uses a funky looking c-clip on either side and you can disassemble yourself. The press fit wrist pin, as its name suggest, is pressed in and on occasion can destroy the piston when it's removed.
If you have an LQ9 (flat top 6 liter) and want to use a direct swap GM piston, look for 2005+ LQ4 (dished) pistons.
Edit:
Now I get what you are asking. I'm not familiar if they share wrist pin diameters or not. Any aftermarket dished piston that is designed for a 2005+ 6.0 should be a floating wrist pin as long as they are designed for stock rods.

I just basically did that for a low boost budget turbo build I am doing. Used a 5.3 crank, stock 6.0 floating rods and the deepest dish 6.0 floating pistons I could find. They were enginetechs for a Silverado from rock auto, about $120 for the whole set. Took it in for balance, and the machinist was surprised that they actually looked good and were dead on in weight consistency. Did have to add a couple slugs to the 5.3 crank though.

I think he added 50 grams..... balance starts at $300 - it was at $500ish w the Mallory. I haven't looked at it in a while I think it was 4 slugs. The piston part number at rock was p50738. They are dished with valve reliefs. I don't have the pistons and rods in yet but the crank is. I mocked one up and it looked like it decks out close to zero maybe a few thou less. Definitely not + though. With 317's I think it will be close to stock compression. Hence the low boost. Also he asked for the flywheel and balancer cause he spins it with those after the fact to see how it looks. He may have done a very lit bit of work to the balancer I forgot would have to look.
