Default Cams?

Alright i haven't been on here in a while. I am looking for a cam, nothing super crazy but definitely not stock. good mid and high end torque and power. What lift and duration would be appropriate and which brand? Not trying to break the bank either here. Looking for a ballsy sound, good mid and high end power/torque. And if absolutely needed, what valvetrain upgrades are needed? I have a 2001 ls1 Zo6 engine in a 1998 trans am. Please any help is appreciated , thanks.

Tons of options and choices. Your best bet is to call the major vendors on here, and they can get into the finer details and point you in the right direction

Goals for the car? Budget? Certain HP your trying to achieve? Is it a daily driver or all out drag car?

Call Brian Tooley @ BTR, or Martin Smallwood @ SRD..Those two fellas are LSx sorcerers. I have talked to them both about past projects and actually felt bad for keeping them on the phone so long, like an hour+, they truly love what they do and either will get you where you want to be.

As far as goals with the car. it is my daily, but i only drive local. she only has 50k, on the motor and trans. hp is at around 415, i would like to squeeze 530-50 out of her. but out of the cam, i'd like to get at least 90hp or more from that alone if possible.

to summarize. I want to remain my daily but as a bad *** daily that i can rip down the street or take to the track on weekends.

Just so you know, you won't gain 90 hp from the cam alone

Agree...90hp from a Hydraulic cam alone is never going to happen.

Your wants and goals are not really nsync. You don't want something super crazy, but then you want to gain 90hp from a cam alone.

First of all, you haven't told us any of your other mods.

Second, there are a million threads on cam swaps and the necessary components. Or there are quite a few vendors who would be more than happy to assist you. I'd start there.
