Default Heads and Intake Selection for LS6?

Current setup is in the sig and here is the Dyno...

So I was looking into heads. I spoke with a sponsor and Texas Speed's 225cc Heads with 62cc combustion chambers. Bump compression up a bit and flow some more air. I had some concerns though:
  1. They dont seem to flow much more than the 243's I have with port work.
  2. They do not utilize titanium intake and sodium filled exhaust valves so valvetrain weight is higher

Also Not sure how much more compression the 62cc combustion chambers will pick up.

I plan to do a FAST 102 in the process. I will also need new injectors.

What I wanted to know from you guys is, with an all motor setup, are these heads worth it over porting my 243's, especially considering my stock heads will have a lighter valvetrain. Also How much more power can i expect for this $3k or so? I was hoping 450+ to the tire. It made 420 on a final pull but it was burning oil and was very hot outside.

And Id Suggest taking the car to Alex Peitz, or John Smith for a good tune.

I have those heads with the lightweight valve option and the FAST. Check my build thread in my sig if you want to compare mods and dyno numbers. I'm more than happy with them. Plus, you could sell your 243s to help offset the cost.

IMO I'd definitely get those 243s worked over. Much better bang for the buck

Send your 243's to Advanced Induction.

I would probably go sign the new prc's and sell your 243's. You will get a lot more PTV clearance and thicker deck

Nice build man! My tuner would want to port these heads and port match the 102 to them. You left yours like they came in the box and went to town huh?

My question about the ported 243's, is would they get me to the 480-500 rwhp club, or do I need the bad *** heads for that?

Thanks! Yeah just factory 102, but I'm considering port matching next time I remove it.

If budget is tight, definitely send your heads to get ported. But you won't be out all that much extra to get the PRC ones and sell yours. Just up to you if the money is worth the extra hp. You can't go wrong either way. Make sure you do supporting mods to get a reliable setup.

Depends on how big your money tree is in the back yard, if you sell the 243's what will you get 5 6 hundred? That is still a good chunk of money away from new heads, for realistically
20 30 more horsepower? over your 243 with light valves? if you tack on light valve option on new heads what will they be?
What was mentioned earlier is your best bet, port your existing heads. And if you have money falling off of that tree, put it in suspension, a fast, a throttle body, something you can see is new, that way you feel better about the money you will never get back. my .02
