The cam will depend on your lifters. above 6500 with a turbo also will need no only high quality lifters but a high volume oil pump.
Anyway on to the cam. i would recommend something in the 233/242 area on a 114...might be pretty tight if youve milled the heads youd want to double check unless you have forged pistons with valve reliefs. Does have some overlap. there are alot of cams in that range on youtube...search to your hearts content. We either have a cam in the area or can spec you one close! The end result is also all in the tuning/timing and the exhaust.

Cam kits run 689 with dual springs

i was thinking ls 7 lifters?
it will have a hi volume pump.
heads not milled, but am going up on valve size. the pistons are dished hyperthuetics. step up from stock.

I would recommend a step up to the morel 5315 honestly. not alot more money but higher quality internals and still drop in. Then a melling 10296 oil pump (high volume). The cam we recommended will sound pretty amazing. There are alot of sound clips of similar cams (like the ms3) oit there...keep in mind that the ls1s larger displacement will tame the cam and the sound somewhat also. I would stay away from the ms3 cam and similar as the lobes cam be quite aggressive...if TSPs new cams do in fact use the same lobe ramp rates. The xer style lobes can be hard on springs.

Big thumping cams and a turbo = poor results.

If you want that big block sound, ditch the turbo and go N/A.

You can dial in quite a bit of exhaust duration and have a solid LSA and still make it sound good and have the turbo power. But if you want it slobbering all over the place, NA is nearly the only way to do it.

$400 for a cam? not knocking it one bit, but im torn on spending that kind of $ on a first build just with a cam. love the video its what im looking for. honestly im stepping into something un-know for me on these, and its a "in your face" learning experience. way diffrent then a $350 complete cam kit for a gen 1

Nearly all LS cams range from 375-425 to 500 depending on who's name you wish to buy.

Yup all ls cams are 375+ roughly 900 if you do hv oil pump ,gaskets ,springs, retainers, pushrods etc. But the ease of installation is great.
