MAN!! I'm so far away from all of these deals! I'm jealous Apparently the mid-west is the place to be... anyone have an extra bed I can sleep in for the rest of my life And if not, maybe know of some generous people such as yourselves around my area (VA)?

You're not the only one... us guys up here in the NW all help each other with installs. We have three cam installs all in a row in July (mine included) and there's always at least 2 or 3 guys from our group who are willing or able to help on any given project. Being gearheads, it's just fun to turn wrenches, drink some beer, eat some food, and BS about our hobby.

When I do cam changes I usually charge $175. Although I do have the owner supply all gaskets and fluids. But I believe it's still a fair price. By myself it still takes me about 8 hours or so to do a complete cam and valvetrain swap. However I do not have a lift or any power tools of any sort.

Although if the owner is willing to actually get their hands dirty and help then I just have them buy food and drinks while we are working. Then a descent little dinner afterwards.
