Brainstorming the build...
It will be going in my sons 01 Z28 and used as 3 event car. The suspension is already done front to rear
Here's the base idea and what I've got planned so far.
6.2L shortblock (getting from a friend)
Crank will be sent out to have 24 reluctor installed
New bearings throughout
Stock rods with ARP bolts
Stock pistons
Improved Racing crank scraper
Upgraded oil pump
Heads and valvetrain already taken care of using 243's and BTR Roadrace cam.
Harness will be modded by Bill @ BPAutomotive
Trans will be going to Tick for Stg 2. with add-on goodies.
Rear diff, still undecided.
Just trying not to forget or fall short on anything so I can get this done while he's in Boot camp for the AF. I'm old and forgetful.
Clutch, baffled pan, intake manifold (just didn't see which you're using), i'd slap new rings on the pistons and do a quick hone if you already have it pulled that far apart. you'll need a throttle body as the ls1 is cable driven and the l92 is not. (unless the ecm can be modified to control the dbw throttle body, im not sure on that one)
not a complete list but just stuff i thought of off the top of my head
His plan for induction is a FAST 102/102 and a twin disc clutch. But that's on his dime. He has a good monster clutch in it now that I know will hold this set up.
As for rods, wasn't planning on resizing. Never heard of much issue with them But may consider it now. I'll lock them in the rod vice and bore gauge them first. Hopefully they'll check out fine. Or maybe just invest in aftermarket rods.
This isn't a high HP build, just a durability build. Anything over 450rwhp on an AutoX track is just too much.
Good thinking on the Baffle. I knew I was forgetting something along with the crank scraper.

If it is not just an install error? You say you are
going to put them in your rod vise and check,
sounds like experience with actual parts instead
of Google experience, not sure you need to get
to worried about ARP's , I'll bet you can figure
that one out. It's cool you are doing that with
your son.
