.030 243 Heads Setups
Just finished the following setup and trying to see what others are using for Pushrod Length for milled .030 heads.
-02 Ws6 stock bottom end
-Cnc 243 heads milled .030 with 2.08/1.57
-Stock GM MLS head gasket
-LS7 Lifters
-TSP 228R cam
-Ported Fast 92/92
-Kooks headers 1 3/4 w/magnaflow catback.
I used the adjustable pushrod checker and came up with 9-10 turns but then used Shanes Method EO/IC method to adjust at the base circle of the cam using the TR hardened 7.4s i had and came up with just shy of 1 1/2 turns at 22 ft pnds. At the time it seemed correct as 1 full turn he claimed was .049 preload, which would have put me at .070 preload. However, after reading further, speedengineer did a follow up to that claim stating that 1 full turn is equal to .078 at the pushrod. So, it looks like im closer to .120. I already have the pushrods adjusted and valve covers buttoned up. Anyone else running 7.4" pushrods and having no issues? Think i will running into any issues with running .120 preload? Thanks guys
