Comp 26056 Beehive Springs
I know this is probably a long shot, but I'm considering running these beehives on a set of Trickflow heads. The Trickflow heads have a 1.480" spring pocket, so I can use the larger OD springs. The installed height is closer to 1.860" without shims, so I have room to use more lift than the .650" that they're rated for. One of Jon Kaase's guys just won the Engine Masters Challenge with them on a Ford Cleveland, and he had really good things to say about them. I'm just looking for any feedback from anyone else who may have tried them out. Specs are...
OD: 1.454
Seat Load: 160 @ 1.800
Open Load: 420 @ 1.150
Rate (Lbs./In.): 400
Coil Bind: 1.100
As for the rest of the valvetrain, I'm using a Comp HUC grind; 247/255 .670/.670 114+4, Comp 1.8:1 Ultra Pro Mag rocker arms, GM LS3 hollow stem intake valves, Ferrea solid stainless exhaust valves, and 3/8" diameter pushrods.
