Default Ls1 with 170,000 miles

Hey guys I wanted some opinions from as many people as possible on my 99 z28 a4. So my goal is to have my car capable of mid 10s but being an excellent DD. My engine does have 170,000 miles on it right now so this is why I need many opinions. I'm assuming I would need 600ish rwhp to hit mid 10s. Now my question is what would be the safest, smartest, and cost affordable way to achieve this? Idk if 170,000 miles is a lot for this engine but I would think I need to be careful. Let me know what you guys think! Thank you!

450 RWHP is enough for mid tens especially with auto & converter.
Easiest way with so many miles probably turbo set up. 8 lbs of
Boost, beefed up trans with mild converter & 3.42-3.73 gears.
Well set up turbo easiest on bottom end and less RPM needed
Provided engine is in good shape.
NA you would need a lot of Expensive parts and 6500+RPM
very risky with so many miles IMO.

Hey man thanks for getting back to me, I appreciate it. How would you recommend I go about getting the best turbo set up and converter? Like what brand would you recommend?

Also I've looked at some cars like mine with 450rwhp and they range from mid 10s to 11.3s.. Why is there such a difference?

Heads and cam would get you 450rwhp. Do you plan on doing the work your self? Turbo builds can get expensive but then again so can heads and cam.

To get into the mid 10's with 450 rwhp you will some weight reduction, good suspension, and one he'll of a 60 ft. Certainly not a basic street setup. Not sure if that matters to you. For really cheap you could just hit it with a 100 shot, and reach your goal much easier
