Default Reluctor wheel/crank issue

hey guys, i started checking clearances on my new oil pan set up, and during that i found what looks like to me is a dowel pin for the reluctor wheel that has somehow slipped out of place?

The reluctor wheel is coming apart, but you can fix it. Look here: http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/sh....php?t=1464306

thanks for the link! thats exactly what is happening i pulled the crank, and removed 5 rivets that had worked them selves out, now i just need to make sure it hasn't slipped on the crank and get it welded in place.

That is correct. Our billet reluctor wheels are a permanent solution for them coming apart. Every 24x engine we build gets one due to the factory wheel problems. Even Callies puts them on every 24x crank that comes out of there factory.

Callie's must have recently started that because 2 years ago mine had a factory one that after 70 miles decided to start spinning. I now have a billet one with a few welds to guarantee it will never happen again. It was then rebalanced.

just after 70 miles!! thats crazy! i shipped the crank off to LME to have the billet wheel installed and welded, i appreciate all the help, i cant believe how poor of a design the factory reluctor wheel set up is for being such a critical part, 2 riveted pieces, no keyway ect. but i guess theres enough stock vehicles running around with no issues? must only be common in higher hp combos. and ive also read that this is most common with the callies cranks
