2000 LS1 stock bottom, new bearings.
243 Heads, stock as can be, not the lightweight valve version.
I have 2 cams
int. 227 ext. 239 .551 int/exh 108 lobe seperation
int. 221 ext. 226 int. .595 ext. .586 112 lobe center angle w/110 intake
centerline
pac 1219x springs
comp 918 springs
LS7 lifters
pushrods to be determined will go with little bigger tube size.
a few intake manifold choices
stock LS6 and throttle body, rails, injectors.
Fast 102 LSXRT with fast 102 throttle body.
Or Vic. jr. with holley 750 DP.
I have stock truck manifold stuff as well.
stock rockers with comp trunions
comp cams ultra 1.75 roller rockers
2 sets of headers 1 3/4 mid length 1 7/8 long tubes
1 set head gaskets gm mls. .051
Can go with 700R4 automatic or T56, both will hold this power with ease.
vehicle has 3.08 rear gear and will stay that way for this engine.
vehicle weighs 2900 with 25 gallons and without me.
This is just a temporary combination, I currently have thin wallet disease,
and no cure for 1 more college year, then hopefully the outcome of said
college year will cure my disease. LOL I love my Daughter.
vehicle has no purpose just a toy but want it to be as stout as it can be.
would like to hear any opinions.
The other cam is bigger, but with a 108 LSA, will idle very rough. An LSA that low is usually geared more towards a carb, but the Vic Jr/Holley 750 combo you have will make less power than the FAST intake, so you might as well go with the smaller cam and gain fuel injection.
roller rockers, I like that they mount on a stud
like gen 1 small block, way easier to adjust,
but saying that why did the general get away
from that? Will the heads design not
structurally support the stud style? Anybody
have any thoughts on that?

I would sell the remainder (1 3/4" LTs, LS6 intake, carb & intakes
Etc) keep auto, take the funds and send 243s to CNC porting
AI,Livornos,TEA, or ,Lingenfelter, send FAST LSXRT to Tony Mamo
Combo would pick up 45-60 RWHP and torque and throttle
Response everywhere! Even with the "mild cam"
Would be an awesome combo, idle and drive mello, till
You plant your foot then rip your head off and pull to
6500+ (provided your valve train is dialed in)

If you're even thinking about somewhat DD, I'd suggest sticking with the bolt style rockers. They go 100K+ with no adjustment all the time. I would only go with adjustable rockers for race only application.

in stockers. Didn't really care for them, they
did not all feel smooth, hence the reason for
the comps. I just don't read about many
people using them on the new small block.
I still have a couple sets of aluminum adjustable rockers from gen 1 small block
with lots of beating and miles on them, and I would still use them today if needed.
It is just so easy to get a good swipe out of the
adjustables.
On sending heads off for port work, this particular engine is just temporary till my
