Just thought about that. Stock bore. I have some minor pitting from rust in 1 Cylinder and was told I could get it resleeved in that cylinder for around $100. I was trying to look up sleeves and only ones I can find are for 05 and up gen 4 engines. I have a set of l33 rods and pistons I wanna use but am leary about the minor pitting in the bore. So that's the reason for it.

Just find a shop that will resleeve and let them
find proper sleeve, that way you don't have
to worry about getting wrong one.

Talked to engine builder and he called around today and they don't make gen 3 sleeves. That why I figured I would ask on here and see what everyone else has to say. So it's either bore it out and get new pistons which wouldn't make sense unless I do better rods also. So at that point I might as well buy a Thompson shortblock. Application is for a 700-800whp boosted setup. But mostly 600whp on street.

You can bore it to stock 5.7 displacement then get some ls1 pistons for super cheap on eBay or the classifieds

Please find a new engine builder. Sleeves are available. How ever it's usually counter intuitive to sleeve an Iron block unless it rare... you can get the 5.3L iron blocks cheap all day long.

That was my ? To anyone in here. Can a gen 4 sleeve be used in a gen 3 block? I said f it and threw the motor together with the gen 4 rods and press fit pistons and left bore alone. I'll save it for a back up or use it in a lower hp application. I'm pulling original gen 3 motor and putting in my l33 stuff and 799 heads cause I know it's good block to start with. Thanks for info tho.
