Yeah, I still haven't had the time to pull the valve covers yet. Taking it somewhere tomorrow to get the exhaust leak situation resolved and we'll go from there. Thanks for the input everyone.

so I drove the car for a bit the other day - full warm up, and the noise much more quiet at operating temperature. I may not have let it idle in my driveway long enough, got some unbiased 3rd party opinions and nobody seems to think it's lifter or rod noise. For as low miles as it has I'm still surprised by the noise, my last Fbody didn't do it, but oh well.

here is what you can try

1. take off the belt and make sure the noise persist (rules out accessory)
2. inspect the flywheel using inspection plate (just in case, and its pretty easy)
3. Start pulling coilpacks one at a time and ensure the noise remains regardless
4. manually probe via stethoscope to determine is the noise is preferentially located on one side or the other
5. cup hands around portions of the exhaust system for leaks, when dead cold (no burns)

That is exactly how my car is. I installed all new lifters and still the same noise haha. My car only has 61xxx miles but its been doing it since I bought it at 54xxx.

Yeah, at this point I'm not real worried about it. My last Camaro was a 2002 which I bought with 74K miles, went through a turbo build making 650 to the tires, sold with 84K, and the engine was completely quiet, sounded like a sewing machine.

Wonder what causes this

Sounds similar to noise I was getting which turned out to be dirty lifters. Pulled valve covers, rocker arms and pushrods and shot some Throttle body cleaner done the pushrod holes and let it sit. Reinstalled everything and noise was gone. Wasn't too bad of a job

About 6 per second. Times 60=360 per minute. 360 times 2=720rpm. Just a thought.
